What is the Laser Dentistry?

Many times, patients are hesitant to go to the dentist because of the sounds and vibrations caused by the dental drill. This is why we use laser technology in our office, since it is easier, painless and quicker than traditional drills. Laser dentistry uses high-powered laser technology to power away soft and hard tissue. It can be useful in most dental appointments when a drill or even scalpel might be needed.

Our pediatric dental office in Bellevue, WA is proud to offer the Solea laser for our patients!

What is the Solea Laser?

The Solea laser is a CO2 dental laser system that is approved by the FDA for hard & soft tissue treatments. It is a non-invasive and pain-free alternative to the traditional drill and scalpel, making this a very popular option for children.

Why is the Solea Laser Effective?

The Solea laser system uses wavelengths which are guided by sophisticated computers to help deliver painfree dental procedures for both teeth and gums and allows for our pediatric dentist, Dr. Yu Ong, to treat issues ranging from cavities to complex gum surgeries! Because of its non-invasive nature, children who undergo this laser dental treatment will have a faster recovery period and can even eat and drink immediately after leaving our office since the treatment can be done within that single appointment!

We love this practice! My kids beg to go to the dentist and they love the staff. The staff manage to schedule my 3 kids for a triple appointment and so we are in and out fairly quickly! Kids love the prize machine too. Thanks for taking such great care of my kids!

Who is a candidate for Laser Dentistry?

Laser technology is safe and effective for most patients. You can benefit from this type of option because it is often painless, and some of our patients won’t even need anesthetic while the laser is in use. You won’t have the sounds and the vibrations associated with a typical dental drill. In fact, both adults and children can benefit from this type of option when coming into our office.

What happens during Laser Dentistry?

The first step is to have you come into our office for your appointment. We will sit you comfortably in one of our operatories. Because lasers are often painless, anesthetic may not be needed depending on the type of work being done. We then use a small handheld device and laser technology to power away hard and soft tissue as it is needed. We can use this type of technology when preparing teeth for fillings, crowns and bridge work. You will find that the procedure goes quickly and more smoothly than ever before.

If you think you might benefit from laser dentistry, call our pediatric dentist in Bellvue, WA today so that we can get you in for a consultation appointment.
