The Wand

What is The Wand?

The Wand is a revolutionary new way to administer local anesthetic. This particular technology reduces the sting and pain of a traditional injection. It is more comfortable for our patients, and children are less likely to be afraid of needles thanks to this pain-free approach. The Wand has been used successfully in dental practices for years, and it’s an integral part of our pediatric office.

Why is The Wand needed?

One of the main fears that kids have when visiting the office involves needles and pain. When we are able to eliminate the pain and sting of a traditional injection, we are able to reduce this fear and anxiety. This makes treatment easier, quicker and less stressful for both the child and parent. We’ve been using the Wand for our patients for quite some time and thoroughly trust in its technology to provide a pain-free experience.

“My 3 year old daughter went in today to treat decay. It was her first dental treatment. From front office to assistant and Dr Ong did amazing job on her. Highly recommend this place:)”

Who is a candidate for The Wand?

Most children undergoing dental care and treatment in the office will benefit from the Wand. We can provide your child with an exam and to determine if dental treatment is needed. If the mouth needs to be numb for any reason, the Wand is useful for providing this level of anesthetic without the pain or problems associated with injections. The majority of children coming into our office benefit greatly from the Wand.

What happens during Wand treatment?

We will sit your child comfortably in our office. Prior to treatment, we will administer anesthetic through the Wand appliance. This small appliance administers the anesthetic that your child needs, but without the pain and sting that is often felt. We then complete the procedure that is needed. Your child is then ready to head home without the discomfort that may often be felt with traditional injections. The Wand technique is a great way to eliminate the pain and fear that your child might experience when in the office. If you are interested in learning more about the Wand, call us today to schedule an appointment for you and your child to come in.
